Interlock driveway for our builder Nick, Carol was the client
Here is a nice job we did for a very good client, Carol, wonderful lady. Nick is the builder that we were working with on this project as well. Our part in this project was the design plan and overall building concept idea. Due to work overload, the building process was actually sub-contracted to a trusted landscaper that we knew for many years.
There is much more to this job than just what is seen on the pictures. There was a couple of parts to this project, waterproofing, new catch-basin drain hook up and rebuilding of the driveway. The complete waterproofing was done all along the house, six feet high, with the new blue seal product. Back filling of the waterproofing trench was done with self compacting clear stone material. Due to small slope from the garage to the street, the driveway was broken into two parts, one draining to the street, the other to the catch-basin drain located in front of the garage. The catch-basin drain was hooked up to the city sewer. The driveway base was re-done with solid 1 foot crush stone base, resurfaced with quality unilock product. Also sprinkler pipes were put in.
The design for the driveway was pretty straight forward. We used the exact same pavers as the walkway we did last year on the side of the house. The colors in these pavers match very well with the natural stone that the house is built. We have also added the unilock, il capo paver as an accent border that was to tie in with the color of the brick of the house. The il capo is a really nice paver that worked very well, with a very nice unique texture. Also we threw in permacon, celtic mega curb on the side for the flower bed to act as a small retaining wall. That retaining wall needed to be significantly lower than the previous one and also not take away too much space from the flower bed.
