Pre-sealed, will not stain, true paver breakthough!
Finally a concrete paver that everybody wants. They could offer a little more sizes and colors, but this is definitely an excellent start. Belpasso is a relatively new product from Unilock. Resistance to staining is unbelievable. It resists stains of ketchup, dirty engine oil, dirty transmission oil and even harsh chemicals will not affect it.
Let’s compare it to a popular paver such as Brussels Block, also from Unilock. Cost of Belpasso for material alone is just over 3.5 times as much as Brussels Block, so is it worth the money? You can decide for yourself if you like by considering what you are saving with it, which is the following:
- Cost of both material and labour that is involved in sealing and re-sealing a standard concrete paver. Good sealer is quite expensive and also keep in mind that a good sealer lasts only about 3 years, so you would have to re-seal every 3 years. Sealing job requires quite a bit of work, especially an old driveway where you first must clean off heavy stains, powerwash, etc, before you can start the sealing process.
- Another way, probably much less expensive way to keep the paving clean with regular pavers is to simply replace the affected pieces. Now with this method, you must also keep in mind that if you have a driveway that is let’s say 10 years old, the color of a brand new paver will not match perfectly. Smart thing to do is to keep a few extra pieces when the driveway is installed for the first time, there is always some left over pieces.
- Finally you also have to consider the inconvenience of having work like that done.
Well, is it worth it?? I guess it depends on the person, one might say that it is not worth it and someone else might really like it. Have a look at the video below:
